Beginnings
– How I view my practice at the start of my current training –
This practitioner has not chosen to share this information at this time.
I enjoy the interactions, building connections and bringing the best out in a child. I love to see them grow and develop over the course of their time at nursery.
To work as part of a team to sustain an environment and ethos that brings the best out of each individual child.
I prefer to plan the moment and work with where the child is developmentally.
We are guided by the child's voice and interests in how we plan learning opportunities and develop the environment.
We shape our setting through asking children for their thoughts, listening to our children and careful observation of how our children use the environment.
I try to be more supportive of allowing the child autonomy throughout their day ie by asking or promoting rather than telling ie do you think you need a jacket? Or what do we need to do before we brush our teeth etc. I've always tried to allow for children's creative input and active learning - never really been a fan of templates or over adult agenda type activities.
I try to meet needs in an equitable way.
I hope to strengthen my ability to question and learn when applying Froebelian principles to practice.
Having a shared understanding with my line manager and slowly being able to share my knowledge with those I work with.
