Beginnings

How I view my practice at the start of my current training

This practitioner has not chosen to share this information at this time.

I enjoy the fact that every day is different when working with young children. Their sense of awe and wonder and how they perceive the world around them makes me as an adult change the way that I think about things. I enjoy joining children in all aspects of their play and developing that natural curiosity enabling them to lead their own learning.

As an Early Stages Teacher within a nursery setting, my main role is to lead learning within the setting with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy. This is achieved through play experiences using a child-centred approach.

My practice is mostly child-centred when I engage fully with the children, listening to their views and opinions, taking their ideas forward. This is usually when experiences relate to their interests and when I act as a facilitator in their play/ learning.
