Beginnings
– How I view my practice at the start of my current training –

I learn from the children I’m working with every day. The children make me more knowledgeable. The children motivate me to be a better person. No single day at work is the same. Helping children and their families is the most rewarding thing.
To work as a team to deliver high quality education and care to young children and their families.
Being child centred is at the forefront of everything that I do to promote the welfare of every child. I place the child at the centre of their learning process by giving them choices of rich learning experiences.
The environment is set out to naturally encourage the children to want to play, investigate and explore. Materials are chosen to expand the children’s curiosity. Lots of outdoor experiences are provided which extend the indoor environment. The children are provided with long periods of uninterrupted free time to explore and interact with their learning environment both indoors and outdoors. Real experiences are provided for the children.
Every child is treated fairly as an individual. Children are learning in a safe space that’s encouraging and that provides equal opportunities to all.
Team work.
