Beginnings
– How I view my practice at the start of my current training –

I really enjoy working with young children as I love to see the curiosity and imagination they have. They see the world from a different perspective and I find it fascinating.
My role is to share my expertise the the EYW's, ensure the Early Learning Centre is providing the best possible learning experience for the children and families who attend.
My Practice is most child-centred when the children are with me.
My setting environment is one of a natural approach both indoors which flows between each other. The materials are mainly natural and open ended to allow for curiosity and imagination.
Children are all involved in the shaping of the environment as children's voice is of paramount importance at out early learning centre. They are involved in every aspect of the ELC and policies and procedures are shared with them in a child friendly manner.
Froebelian thinking both informs and inspires my practice as it connects children and nature, learning through experiences.
Social justice is about distributing resources fairly and treating all children/families equitably so that they feel safe and secure—physically and psychologically. Being aware of this impacts on my practice as it allows me ensure that we are treating the children fairly and giving each children the same chance to learn, play and develop.
I hope to strengthen my practice by making myself more confident about sharing Froebelian practice with others. Some members of staff who haven't had much experience with Froebelian principles and I would like to feel more secure in what I'm sharing.
I value support from all staff and having a shared vision for Froebelian principles.
