– How I view my practice at the start of my current training –

The joy that they give me with their smile and the opportunity for personal growth.
Coordinator of outdoor activities at a park for school trips and park visitors. With in the role I get to creat and test short(1,3 hr-3hr) educational activity plans for kids 4-12 y/o. The two main goals are to get them familiar with the natural environment of the park along with children's rights.
When: I try to take in to consideration the needs of each child and their ages and adjust to what each child brings. Although their is such a limited time I try to make their visit worth. How: we use evaluation questionnaire for the teachers that accompany the class and evaluation through a simple like and dislike drawing/comments from young participants.
I try to have as few materials as possible in an attempt to let nature be the material for this 1,3 hours. In that way I try to make them explore what the park/nature has to offer.
Taking the feedback form kids evaluation and making adjustments if necessary, or trying out.
Has remind that there is always a way to put the child first even if you see them only for 1.3hrs. You can make an impact and make them feel safe and welcome
Although social justice and children's right are what is required I feel that I have worked to do in that area and rethink the school trip.
To think of the child's needs in a deeper level and make sure their rights are being protected with in my practise.
Less pressure and intervention from non pedagogists superiors of how the activities and the space is suppose to look in order to "sell" more as a mass activity.
