Becomings
– Changes to my thinking or practice which are emerging as a result of my current training –

Making improvements to their environment and experiences that enhance their opportunities for play and learning.
I am currently half way through the Practitioner enquiry course - leading and supporting one of my Deputes in their centre and I am looking forward to the prospect of taking forward the ideas we have. I feel the leadership course will further support my role across other centres.
I think I try to ensure all improvements made, whether to provide support to a manager, organise or facilitate training for practitioners are based centrally on improving the situation for the child to ensure they have access to a high quality and nurturing environment. To enhance their learning and development with an holistic approach.
I think everything starts from these elements to ensure the provision supports the child. Having this in place also supports practitioners in the expectations of their role and responsibilities. It sets a standard for them and the procedures offer the support system if they feel they need. This all in turn is for the benefit of the children and families.
I want to make sure that settings are inclusive spaces that value the voice of everyone, that take account of needs and requirements. So often you can still see some practitioners looking a t a day in an early years centre as a day of work. I think this attitude needs to be altered. Children need to be at the forefront of why and how things are shaped and changed, in collaboration with the adults. This should be shared experience of learning and play. There should be joy in every day to ensure we are centred on the children and not always our own needs first. Team spirit.
For me the biggest part is self growth, taking time to learn, to experience and to connect with others in my community and beyond. I love that I can now see that in unity with nature, what I do in my life has an impact on how I am at work. That being fulfilled and active can change me to become an active participant in my work and that I have more to give.
Sharing with others.
Continuing to connect with the Froebel community and grow in strength and knowledge in this area, to be able to share confidently with others.

I have always been aware of social justice and believed in an inclusive and equitable learning space. Working across demographics has enhanced my understanding of the variety of opportunities available to children and families and what additional offer you may need to input when working with children and families. This may be due to living in poverty, family dynamics, housing and amenities or due to work commitments of parents. Each aspect needs care, attention and thought.
